Multiple Teams · PHS Varsity Softball Aims for Improvement

On April 18, our lady lobos played against the McAllen High School Bulldogs and despite their best efforts, lost with a score of 21 to 3. This game took place at Palmview High School softball field.

“I wasn’t really satisfied with the results because I know if we would communicated more, we could have played better as a team,” said Yaritza Ortiz.

Just as Itzanelly Cordero stated in their game against Juarez Lincoln on March 3, Ortiz states that she “would encourage the team to communicate from the start”.

“My goal for the season is to hit a homerun, which I have been close to and to learn from the mistakes and succeed in every game,” said Ortiz.

One accomplishment that Ortiz boasts about is that she tried her best to stop every hit that the other team hit to her.

“One thing that we would do differently is to play error free and to play as a team,” said Ortiz.

Ortiz states that despite their efforts to be open with one another during the game, “miscommunication” was one of their weakest links.

The Palmview softball team has had a great season that involved hard work and dedication. Through their wins and loses they continue to show lobo pride through all that they do.
