A: I love that it’s a team effort in my sport. You can’t rely on yourself. You have to be able to give your trust in other people that will help you succeed in every sport.
Q: How do you prepare yourself before a game?
A: Before every game I put on my earphones and put on a playlist that will get me pumped up. I sit down and imagine every play in my head going smoothly.
Q: What are some challenges you’ve faced as an athlete?
A: Some challenges I’ve faced is how to share my time with school. I’ve learned that being an athlete and a student is very hard, but if you put your mind to it you can be the best athlete and the best student.
Q: How does teamwork affect your performance?
A: Being in a sport that involves a lot of teamwork is very hard. You have to make sure that you know what the other person is feeling that day. If it’s a day that they will do good or bad. At any time of the day we have to be here to support our teammates and give them an extra push if they need it.
Q: What are some personal and team goals you have set for the season?
A: A personal goal I’ve set this year for my season is to be the best team captain I can be. I wanted to be that person that my teammates can come to and express how they feel. I wanted to help my teammates to exceed their limits and be the best player they can be. A team goal we all had in mind this year was to make it to the playoffs, but most importantly a team goal we all had was to create a bond that us seniors won’t forget when we move on to our journey.
